Choosing colors

The Color window is available from many areas of Analytics. For example, you can select col­ors for backgrounds and text in your styles and text and graph components in your graph styles.

This section explains how to select colors and define custom colors.

To select a color:

Select a color from the Basic or Custom colors (if custom colors are defined) by clicking the color.

Click anywhere in the color palette or type the HSL (hue, saturation, lumination) or RGB (red, green, blue) components in the appropriate text boxes to define your custom color.

Hue—The hue is the pigment of the color and has a value between 0 to 359 degrees.

Saturation—The saturation is measured as a percent from 0 to 100 and specifies the vividness of a color.

Lumination—Lumination is the amount of white in the color and is a value from 0 to 100 percent.
The RGB color model defines the amount of red, green, and blue light the color con­tains. RGB values can be between 0 and 255. For example, when all components are set to 255, the color is white, and when all are set to 0, the color is black.
